Introduction To Holistic Herbalism & Wild Medicine
This multi-sensory course with herbalist Vanessa Chakour, will introduce the empowering practice of Holistic Herbalism; treating the whole self—mind, body and spirit—in collaboration with medicinal plants.
We’ll share herbal infusions (medicinal teas) and tinctures made from plants found in the wilds of New York and discuss how they help us heal. You’ll learn to tap into the language of these wild healers, engage meditative and creative practices to explore the root cause of health challenges and learn to make your own medicine.
Come away with a deepened connection to yourself, to nature and an initiation into the vast world of local plant medicine.

INSTRUCTOR BIO:
VANESSA CHAKOUR
An avid environmentalist, Vanessa’s exploration led her to study herbal medicine and pursue a sustainable lifestyle. She is passionate about helping deepen people’s relationships to their own bodies and the body of the earth.
Her courses & retreats inspire a connection to the wild—inside and out—and the multitude of healing plants that surround us.
She has studied and taught with renowned Herbalists such as Robin Rose Bennett and Matthew Wood and has partnered with Hidden Garden Wellness center in Costa Rica where she teaches, runs retreats and studies the local indigenous, latin and afro-caribbean medicines.
She has developed partnerships with Wolf Conservation Center in So Salem NY and the Jaguar Rescue Center in Costa Rica with whom she offers Sacred Warrior workshops and Rewilding retreats.
