The family of “Frame Drums” includes drums from many cultures around the world.  Native American, Celtic, Mediterranean, Middle-Eastern, Indian, African and many different Asian traditions have all created rich traditions based around this very simple - but incredibly versatile - style of drum.

This workshop focuses on the “lap style” technique of playing, which is most commonly seen in the Middle-East and Mediterranean regions.  You will learn the predominant sounds and how to use them to play grooves and phrases on the drum. This is a hand technique, so no sticks will be needed.
